Moving Coil Step Up Transformer (MC SUT)

The signal from a moving coil cartridge is a delicate thing.

We start with Japanese Finemet transformers with three step-up ratios. Urushi lacquer is applied and the transformers are set to cure in a humidity-controlled chamber. They are wrapped in Showa Period silk to provide natural dampening and an air gap, then in mu-metal foil to provide enhanced EMF shield , and finally more silk before installation into handmade pure copper cases. Only the best Cardas connectors are used to transfer signals in and out. A heavy aluminum plinth provides the foundation. With such an execution, we maintain all the fluidity and dynamic quality desired in serious vinyl listening; without the darkness associated with vintage irons, or the astringent nature of silver-wound cores.
